Books and journals transferred from the professional collection in the library and donated by faculty members.

May students use the TLC?
No. The TLC is only for faculty and other KC employees.
May instructors just come in to relax, talk with another instructor, grade papers or eat a quick sandwich before class?

What is the Mission of the TLC?
The mission of the Teaching and Learning Center is to promote teaching excellence for full-time and adjunct faculty. The TLC provides professional development opportunities and assists faculty in exploring and implementing ideas and innovations that will enhance student learning. The TLC provides programs, learning materials, and other resources, and it encourages informal collaboration and collegiality among faculty members.
What are the TLC Goals?
- Provide print and electronic resources about effective teaching and learning, new technologies, and research in education.
- Provide programs in a variety of formats, such as presentations, workshops, round table discussions, panels, demonstrations, screencasts, webcasts, and online.
- Provide a comfortable setting that encourages informal discussions about teaching.
- Encourage faculty to share expertise and successful teaching strategies.
- Encourage faculty to incorporate effective student-centered learning methods.
- Foster dialogue about teaching, beteween teachers and across disciplines.
- Support innovative teaching and assessment ideas.
- Inspire novice instructors and invigorate veterans in the art of teaching.
- Promote TLC programming to all faculty members.
