Kish athletic team info meeting on February 19

Kishwaukee College Athletics will be holding an information meeting for prospective student athletes on February 19 from noon – 1:00p.m. in the Student Center. “This meeting takes place immediately after High School Visit Day so high school students who are interested in participating in intercollegiate athletics and their parents can easily stay for the session,” stated Scott Kawall, Director of Student Involvement/Athletic Director. “Current Kish students who are interested in trying out for a team next year are also welcome to learn more about athletics at Kish.”

Prospective athletes and their parents/guardians should park in Lot A/South and enter through Door #6.

During the meeting, coaches from the 9 athletic teams will be available with information on try-outs, academic requirements, National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) regulations and more. Kishwaukee College is a member of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) and the Arrowhead Conference. Athletic teams at Kish are men’s basketball, women’s basketball, baseball, softball, volleyball, men’s cross country, women’s cross country, men’s soccer and women’s soccer.

Also on February 19, there will be a special meeting for high school juniors and seniors and their parents/guardians on the new intercollegiate women’s soccer team and the relaunched men’s soccer team for the Fall 2018 season. This Soccer information meeting will be held from 4 – 5:30p.m. in the Student Lounge (C1130) located in the Student Center at Kishwaukee College.

Scott Kawall, Director of Student Involvement/Athletic Director, and Brenton Joseph, Head Men’s Soccer Coach, will discuss academic eligibility requirements, programs of study, the coaching staff, opportunities to make the team, and game and practice schedules.
