The Continuing Education Department at Kishwaukee College is offering a review class for the Massage and Bodyworking Licensing Exam (MBLEx) for the Federation of State Massage Therapy Boards. The class is designed to assist area Therapeutic Massage professionals to prepare to take the licensing exam. The cost of the one-day class is $130.
The review class will be offered on Saturday, September 16 from 9:00a.m. – noon in B1243 at Kishwaukee College. The class covers the format and main areas of the MBLEx; tips and techniques for reading and analyzing questions; and study questions, memory tools and other resources. The class will also administer in-class self-assessment to identify content areas individual students need to target and discussion on specific content.
The instructor is Julie Gavin-Freeman, LMT, BCTMB, I-AYT. Gavin-Freeman is a Professional Anatomist and has taught in a variety of educational settings for over 15 years, covering all topics including but not limited to: anatomy, physiology, pathology, ethics, business practices, documentation, medical terminology, and massage application. She has co- authored published research articles, papers and presentations and written curricula/course work
The class will be offered again in the Spring semester on January 6 and March 24.
